SILVER JEWELLERY CARE

• ILLARIY sells 925 & 950 silver jewellery, one of the most beautiful and lustrous of all metals. With proper care, your silver jewellery will retain it's beauty and character for many generations to come. Silver jewellery may tarnish and oxidise, this is a natural reaction to chemicals in the atmosphere., heat and body oils of the water. Contact with perfume, hairspray, salt water and cleaning products should be avoided. It's highly recommend to put your jewellery on last and take it of first, before your clothing.
• Oxidised silver finishes involves blackening the silver jewellery item by hand with two different techniques to accomplish this dark effect in silver. By darkening some areas of the metal, the detail is much easier to see. It is also a way to create an antique or patina effect, giving jewellery a vintage look if that's what you are into ! You should be careful when cleaning oxidised jewellery though, as too much scrubbing and you will scrub the effect off !

GOLD & PLATINUM JEWELLERY CARE

• Gold and Platinum jewellery can be maintained with a non-abrasive cleaner. Examine your jewellery regularly to make sure settings are snug and clasp and joins are secured. Avoid exposing gold and platinum jewellery to household bleach, which will quickly cause gold to discolour and possibly disintegrate. Jewellery storage is important as well; so between wearings we recommend that you place it back in it's original box to avoid scratching.

   

STAINLESS STEEL, TITANIUM & TUNGSTEN JEWELLERY CARE

• We recommend cleaning stainless steel with 3M stainless steel cleaner & polish. Apart from that, keep all steel accessories away from chemicals, perfume and hair sprays that can cause discolouration.
• Simple clean titanium with any non-abrasive soap or cleaner then dry with a soft tissue. Coloured titanium features can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Please do not clean titanium with silver or metal polish as this will damage the colour.
• Tungsten jewellery requires very little care and will never be store next to diamonds, as diamonds are the only thing that can really scratch tungsten. Avoid cleaning with harsh chemicals.

   

PEARLS JEWELLERY CARE

• Congratulations on your pearls ! Pearls are one of nature's true gifts, their beauty and lustre will be maintained with just a little care. Always store your pearls in their original ILLARIY box or pouch to ensure that they don't get scratched by other jewellery. Pearls are porous, and can absorb oils and body care products-make sure that you apply perfumes, lotions or other skin care products at least half an hour before putting on your pearls. Wiping your pearls with a soft cloth before putting them away will keep your pearls as lustrous as they are today.

   

AUSTRALIAN OPALS JEWELLERY CARE

• Opal is a unique and beautiful gemstone which will last indefinitely if properly care for, keep in mind two basic facts about opals. Firstly, most precious opals contains 6-10%water. Therefore, opals can craze or crack when subjected to harsh, dry conditions and rapid changes of temperature. Secondly, opals have a hardness of about 5.5 to 6.5 measured on the Moh's scale of hardness. Consequently, opals like any other gemstone can be broken, chipped, scratched or loose it's shine with heavy wear and tear. Doublets and triplets opals can be wiped with a damp soft cloth but should not be soaked.

   

FLOWERS JEWELLERY CARE

• Congratulations on acquiring your jewellery from ILLARIY Miniature Flowers Collection. These miniatures flowers are grown in a garden of pots on the hillside home of the Gomez family. They are hand picked with tweezers early in the morning while the flowers are still small. The flowers are dried over several days then individually placed with great skills and care into sterling silver casings. To preserve the flowers avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for too long or wash your hands with hot water. Each piece is beautifully unique and reflects the pride that Mrs.Gomez takes in her work.
